“I only shot one day on Do Something, Jake but it was a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying experience. Everyone was very professional, creating a relaxed and calm set. Most of the acting I do tends to be in things which are slightly over the top so it was a pleasant change to be in something devoid of zombies and explosions for once. I liked that Bob from the employment agency was written as a real character that I could work with, even though he’s kind of tangential to the plot. Plus I got to say the title!”

“My role in the film – albeit a modest part in comparison to other roles that have been taken on by some brilliant actors – I enjoyed immensely, as the mood on set was joyous even when we were working hard to get the footage that was needed, and being able to work with such a professional team both in front and behind the camera was lovely. I have enjoyed the experience very much, and am excited to see the finished piece when it is released in a couple of months time.”

“From my very first day on set, being brought fresh coffee in a really stylish pizza restaurant in Loughborough, to my last day on set, shivering in an abandoned building, working on Do Something, Jake was a truly unique and very enjoyable experience. I’d actually auditioned for the role of Guy before doing my audition for Slim. And that first reading as Guy? Well, it just didn’t quite work. And then I performed as Slim, who, to be honest, I had spent more time preparing for anyway. He was seedy, he was disturbing, and he was strangely likeable at the same time. Fortunately, they loved it, and I was cast following a great call back where I worked alongside Tom Loone (Guy) and Mia Mills (Alice) for the first time. Tom, on the other hand, was absolutely perfect for the role of Guy!

“The cast and crew were great. We were always having a laugh on the way to and from set, and always ready to get down to business and deliver the goods. Many a train ride home was spent with Joe Langham (Production Manager) Jonathan Hawes (DOP) and I laughing as we imagined the sadistic Slim in a variety of obscure roles where his unique voice would go down a charm – from doing his own cooking show, to how and why he might have left London for the Midlands. I think the other passengers must have thought I had some sort of personality disorder!

“I’m confident that this film will be stylish, funny, gripping, and different to everything else out there. I really look forward to the premiere and meeting up with this great bunch of hardworking and talented people again.”
